Welcoming address

Friends and Colleagues,

Warmest greetings from China!

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th Asian Congress of Pediatric Nephrology which be held October 28-30, 2005 in Beijing, China.

International and regional congresses on children’s health have always been important scientific events and have been a great deal of attention by related international and regional organizations and governments of the host country. The 9th Asian Congress of Pediatric Nephrology has got the generous support of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) and the Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association (AsPNA), as well as the full support from the Chinese government, the Ministry of Health of China and the Chinese Society of Pediatric Nephrology.

The Scientific Committee has worked out a preliminary scientific program that covers more than 20 topics in the field of pediatric nephrology. It has invited experts from all over the world and more than 40 of them are topnotch experts from Europe and America. Extensive and in-depth discussions will be arranged. Concurrently, an exhibition will be staged at the same venue. We believe that the congress will serve as an excellent opportunity for exchange between medical professionals, experts and related industrial enterprises from different countries and regions, especially in Asia. It will certainly contribute to the overall progress in the development of pediatric nephrology. It will play an important role in the care of children with renal diseases in Asia where a great number of children live, and in the world at large, as the theme of this congress suggests.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Beijing.
